Parsifal (ex Van Gogh)
Dam: Patente; Dam sire: Caprimond
Breeder: Dirk Müller, Sommerlade
Owner: Juan Berges-Torres, Yeguada Sierra Norte Stud, Spain

In the summer of 2013 the German Dagmar Mahncke-Braeuer, who is living in Spain, found the 8-year-old stallion Van Gogh by Donaufischer (Dam: Patente by Caprimond) at a dealer’s yard. Van Gogh was in very poor condition and badly injured from the attacks of another stallion. Dagmar contacted us right away and with the exemplary and quick help of Erhard Schulte and Mrs. Rosenthal of the Trakehner Verband the identity of the horse could be confirmed. After having asked Juan Berges Torres of Yeguada Sierra Norte Stud he agreed to take Van Gogh over in spite of his bad condition. Dagmar managed to buy Van Gogh for Juan and took him to a friend and vet to take care of his wounds and make him transportable. Only 14 days later Juan was driving Van Gogh 700 km to his stud. On this trip Van Gogh got his new name: Parsifal With great commitment and wise stable- and feed-management and not least huge horsemanship Juan enabled big improvements. Today, not even a year later, the physical and mental problems have been mastered. Parsifal is trained by Juan and his team under saddle and by ground work and is also standing at stud as a stallion, since he is approved for “ANACADES= Asociacion Nacional de Criadores de Caballos de Deporte de España= Breeding Association for Spanish Sport Horses”.
